HUNTING AND FISHING STORIES
I love hearing Hunting and Fishing Stories and I really enjoy telling them. It's always the best fun in the Fall of the year, when we gather at The Farm or my Brother-in-law's Hunting Camp (Camp) and the conversation always starts with...Did I ever tell you about... These stories change just a bit each time we hear them, but that's part of the fun. That's what makes the stories so special. It is great going to Camp and have Family, Friends (Guys and Gals) and kids of all ages...telling and retelling their Hunting and Fishing Stories.
MY FIRST SHOTGUN
I was still quite young when I thought I'd outgrown my BB gun and whined until Dad bought me a Montgomery Wards Westernfield .410 like my older brother's. My brother and I were relentless in hounding my Dad to take us hunting...so he took us quite often that Fall.

I remember shooting six partridge the first year with this Magnificent Gun, thanks to my Dad. With his old Iver Johnson 16 ga single shot, he became our personal hunting guide for my brother and me. His gun only fired half the time. When it "clicked" at a bird, he'd point the bird out to us and one of us would get the shot. As long as he had that old Iver Johnson, my brother and I got a lot of shooting practice.Through the years, I've had many shotguns; but nothing compares to that first .410. My brother still has his, and I always wish I had kept mine.

Either, my Dad or Uncle Bert was always with us; teaching us until we were old enough to hunt by ourselves. Every youngster needs a Hunting and Fishing Mentor. But when you are teaching young people to hunt, make sure that gun safety is top priority; and always have responsible adults with the youngsters. I cannot stress the importance of teaching them the safety and responsibility that comes with hunting and owning a rifle or shotgun.
NOW TELL US YOUR STORY
Please Sign our GUESTBOOK or Share your story; also visit our HUNTING and FISHING BLOG.

As you can tell, I'm just getting started. I will be working on the web site and upgrading as I  go  along. My intent is to remind everyone that Hunting and Fishing is really the Best All American Pastime and we should all be encouraging young hunters to "take up the sport". It usually starts with a mentor..Dad, Mother, Sister, Brother, Uncle or whomever. Somebody very special to us, taught us how to enjoy Mother Nature at her best. We owe it to that Special Somebody to pass this knowledge, skill, love and enjoyment down to the younger generation.
That's it for today...remember I started with a BB Gun for hunting and a willow stick, line and hooks for Fishing....big V
